As South Sudan is to mark the World Press Freedom day on Tuesday, the government is reminded to respect their commitment to the freedom of press, says the Communication and Information Specialist of UNESCO.
It is also to remind the government to protect journalists from intimidation, harassments, killings and detention without trial, Lydia Gachungi adds.
She continues that the day is to tell again the government to protect media houses from random closure in the country.
Many journalists have been killed, detained without charges, threatened and media houses closed in South Sudan.
