The commemoration of World Malaria Day on April 25 every year has unveiled Gbudue State as the most leading in the disease among children and expectant mothers in South Sudan, says an official.

Emmanuel Francis, an official in the State Ministry of Health Malaria Control Program, says Gbudue State is mobilizing communities against malaria prevalence.

He says malaria can easily be controlled by sleeping under mosquito nets and keeping the environment clean.

Yambio State Hospital Medical Doctor, Ismail Mohammed says lack of medicine especially for children puts them at more risk of acquiring malaria.

The number of children admission at Yambio State Hospital for malaria cases increases every day, Doctor Mohammed discloses.

According to a Malaria Consortium Report, malaria is an endemic in 95 percent of South Sudan’s territory.

None of us is safe from malaria; it is a real problem that should be solved, the official says.
