In a letter written to the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, JMEC, the government has at last accepted the return of Dr Riek Machar, the First Vice President designate with 20 PKM machine guns and 20 RPG rocket launchers.
Festus Mogae, the head of JMEC has welcomed the compromise by the government.
Government’s compromise follows Thursday’s acceptance by the SPLM/A-In-Opposition.
Mogae, the Former President of Botswana hails the government’s decision for return of the First Vice President designate, Dr Machar.
It is now vital that Dr Machar returns to Juba tomorrow, Saturday, President Mogae stresses.
No further delay is tolerable, the chairperson of JMEC says.
The Transitional Government of National Unity will be formed immediately upon Machar’s arrival, President Mogae says.
