Some South Sudanese civil society members have expressed disappointment over the delay of the First Vice President designate, Dr Riek Machar return to Juba.

Any delay in the peace process will make citizens lose hope in the implementation of the agreement, decries Rajab Simon Mohandis, the Director of South Sudan Network for Democratic Elections, SSUNDE, Radio Bakhita reports.

Rajab reiterates the JMEC’s statement that the peace agreement is at risk.

South Sudanese expectations were high, but later declined when they heard the postponement of Dr Machar’s arrival, says Sunday Betty, the National Coordinator for Women Monthly Forum.

JMEC should push the peace partners to the right track, she urges.

The activists call for speedy implementation of the peace agreement through the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity.
