The delegation of Europe Union in Juba calls on the South Sudanese authorities to ensure immediate return of abducted children from Ethiopia’s Jakawa area of Gambella region.

Those responsible for the act of violence must be held accountable, the EU says in a statement.

The attack is a tragic reminder of the need to achieve lasting peace, justice and rule of law in South Sudan, the Europe Union says.

The attack on Jakawa, Gambella State of Ethiopia was launched by suspected South Sudanese cattle raiders from Boma State.

The incident happened on April 15, leading to the loss of over 200 lives in Ethiopia.

The EU expresses its condolences to the families of the victims.
