Dr Riek Machar, the First Vice President designate is expected in Juba this Tuesday afternoon, says the opposition military spokesperson.
Colonel William Gatjiath Deng says General Simon Gatwech Dual; the opposition General Chief of Staff will be the first to land at Juba International Airport this Tuesday morning.
Dr Machar will land in Juba three hours after General Gatwech’s anticipated arrival in the morning, the official says.
Colonel Gatjiath says without the arrival of their General Chief of Staff in Juba, Dr Machar is unlikely to return.
But, he explains that the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, JMEC has already cleared the travel of General Gatwech to Juba.
Colonel Gatjiath was speaking to Voice of America’s Day Break Africa program.
Dr Machar was supposed to return to Juba on Monday yesterday to take the position of the First Vice President in the Transitional Government of National Unity prescribed in 2015 peace deal.
