The Deputy Chief of the SPLM/A-In-Opposition says there is a long difficult road ahead to reach sustainable peace in South Sudan.

General Alfred Ladu Gore in a written press statement says commitment to peace, reconciliation and healing among the South Sudanese people is the only way to ease the long difficult journey.

He says the peace deal must be implemented in letter and spirit.

Unilateral decisions by either party to the peace agreement cannot resolve the problems of South Sudan overnight, General Ladu observes.

The Deputy Chairman of SPLM/A-In-Opposition says trust among South Sudanese must be restored to create a new democratic decentralized federal state.

A new democratic federal state gives citizens power and services regardless of their political, ethnic and religious or gender diversities, General Ladu Gore says.

The Deputy Opposition leader issued the statement upon his arrival this week.

Juba is now expecting the arrival of, First Vice President designate, Dr Riek Machar next Monday.
