Civil Servants in Wau disappointed over exclusion from salary increment

Wau State Civil Servants express disappointment for being left out from the national government new salary increment of 300 percent.
 
Thousands of employees while receiving their pay on Friday asked the government to increase their pay like the other employees, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
 
They blame the government for making their lives difficult.
 
What happens is not really acceptable, says William Deng, one of the civil servants at Wau Ministry of Local Government.
 
The salary for Karmella Joseph, a prison warden has been increased.
 
But, the official still complains against a lot of deduction made from the gross salary package.
 
She says 1400 South Sudanese Pounds salary increase does not help her in the current economic crisis.
 
Victor Kon, Wau State Minister of Finance confirms that the only departments which have their salaries increased are the police, prison and wildlife.
 
The Government of South Sudan had pledged to increase salaries of civil servants in January this year by 300 percent to address currency devaluation of more than 80 percent in December, 2015.
