President Mogae and Government Chief Negotiator Nhial Deng have confirmed that President Kiir has agreed on the prompt swearing-in ceremony of Dr Machar next Monday.

Earlier on, the government had not agreed on a request by the opposition that Dr Machar should be sworn in on the same day of his arrival.

But, government stance against a peace rally remains in place.

Several citizens were arrested last Tuesday for showing too much excitement upon the arrival of General Alfred Ladu Gore, the Deputy Chairman of SPLM/A-In-Opposition.

Nyarji Roman, the Deputy Spokesman in Dr Machar’s office says the opposition will land at Juba International Airport at 1:00 PM on Monday.
