Network of Education and Empowerment for Sustainable Services or NESS, a street children caring centre has restarted its operations following months of closure.
The centre has now Community Empowerment for Rehabilitation and Development or CEFoRD as its new supporter, Radio Easter reports.
Last year, the street children centre stopped operations following end of its contract with War Child as its long time funder.
Samson Taban, the centre’s Program Coordinator appreciates CEFoRD the new partnership for responding to the growing number of street children in the area.
Taban says the funding has come at the right time when many children have gone to the street as a result of the crisis.
The centre will be carrying out psycho-social support and accelerated learning program to the street children, Taban says.
The Program Coordinator also appeals to other non-governmental organizations to support the education of street children.
The centre targets one hundred street kids.
It has 60 street kids currently.
