More one thousand girls have got sponsorship from Jesuit Refugees Service in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio, says.
Aidan Azariwe, the Project Director of JRS says girls are the target beneficiaries because their percentage in education is very low, Radio Anisa reports.
He says girls in primary and secondary schools are eligible for the sponsorship.
Jesuit Refugees Service operates in Yambio and Nzara Counties serving five primary and five secondary schools.
Five secondary school teachers have already received scholarship in Uganda and 10 primary school teachers trained at Solidarity Teachers’ Training College in Yambio, the Project Director says.
