The Administrative Officer of Kumbur Payam in Heiban County of the Nuba Mountains has confirmed that some areas have received pit latrine covers.
The pit latrine covers are provided following a workshop earlier this month at Kumbur Youth Centre about environmental sanitation, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
The team trained over 200 people.
The training aims at boosting sanitation and helping the community to avoid defecating in the open.
Jibrin Musa al Kaer, the Payam Administrator says that the pit covers were distributed to areas of Tajura, Timbera, Alubi, Sarbulae, Ndraffi and Ndrudu.
