Members of Wau State Legislative Assembly have formed ten-member adhoc committee to create a new state constitution.
Wau State has been using Western Bahr El-Ghazal State Constitution, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
Members of Parliament say the Western Bahr El-Ghazal State Constitution they still use must be reviewed for amendment.
Speaking in Arabic, Anyar Anyar Dhor, the speaker of Wau State Assembly says the committee will submit its recommendation to the Augus House in two weeks.
The committee will consider the state logo, name of the state, number of counties and other related articles, the state speaker says.
Wau State is one of the newly 28 states created in October 2015 amidst criticisms that President Salva Kiir’s establishment order violates August 2015 peace accord.
