Shalom movement will be established for the first time in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio, says a priest.

Shalom is Hebrew word which means ‘peace”, Radio Anisa reports.

South Sudan becomes the nineteenth country to join the Shalom movement in the world, says Fr Andrea Christiano, the founder.

He expresses excitement for the invitation from Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro to establish the movement in the Diocese of Tombura-Yambio for peace and development.

The movement will create job opportunity to young people in South Sudan in addition to spiritual and social benefits, Fr Christiano says.

He appeals to all South Sudanese to value human life and distribute resources equally in the country.
