The government in collaboration with partners has adopted a Pastoralists’ Livelihood and Education Curriculum to provide free education to conflicting communities in Lakes State.
UNESCO Representative, Salah Khalid says 30 teachers will start teaching in cattle camps in Western and Eastern areas of Lakes State once the project is endorsed, Radio Bakhita reports.
The first phase of the project is expected to target one thousand children, youth and adults, Khalid says.
The training will enable youths and adults identify activities found within the livestock, says Omot Okony Olok, the Acting Undersecretary in the national Ministry of Education.
Youths are the most dangerous sources of violence and insecurity in the country without education, Okony warns.
A two-day validation workshop on Pastoralists Livelihood and Education Curriculum started in Juba on Wednesday today.
