Yei River State cabinet resolves to stop forest logging

The Council of Ministers in Yei River State has resolved that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry should stop forest logging until further notice, says the Minister of Information.
 
Stephen Lado Onesimo says the state cabinet has formed a committee to examine all the contracts of forest logging companies within ten days, Radio Easter reports.
 
Yongule Athanasius Lojojo, the State Minister of Local Government chairs the committee which comprises of members from Agriculture and Environment Ministries, National Security and Criminal Investigation Departments, Lado says.
 
The Information Minister says the finance and public ministry has been granted to allow former employees of Central Equatoria State to work in Yei River State.
 
In a related development, Governor David Lokonga Moses says government employees will work half day on Friday to allow them time for agricultural activities.
