Cultivate to fight hunger, activist urges citizens

Cultivate food crops so as to fight hunger, Nuba Relief Rehabilitation and Development Organization Coordinator urged citizens.
 
He said citizens should cultivate enough food to challenge the International community’s refusal to grant aid to the population of South Kordofan.
 
The Coordinator affirmed that people should be food independent so as to maintain dignity and respect for self-reliance.
 
Secretariat of Child Welfare in the region, Ekram Sadiqu told the crowd that women were active compared to men.
 
She said women were facing a serious problem because people send their boys to schools and deny girls access to education.
 
Sadiqu called on the Paramount Chief of Shawaia to give equal opportunities to girls and boys for access to education and other related chances.
 
The leaders were talking during the commemoration of World Mother Day in Shawaia of Debi Payam in Heiban County, Nuba Mountains.
