The way of cross this year is dedicated to suffering people like former Western Equatoria Governor, Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro who is held in detention without charge, says Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro of Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese.

Bishop Hiiboro led a prayer procession of the way of cross on Good Friday asking God to change South Sudanese hearts to yearn for peace and justice, Radio Anisa reports.

Pray for people’s rights like ex-governor Bakosoro to be released or taken to court for whatever charge that is not known to us, Fr Peter Muidie appeals.

Christians from St Mary, St Bakhita and St. Augustine Parishes in Yambio express their views on the Easter, wishing for peace, forgiveness and mercy in their state and the nation as a whole.

The way of cross procession in Yambio covered about three kilometres.

Christians walked with bare feet wearing black attire as sign of sorrow
