Nuba community holds meat eating feast in Tajura

A small group of people from Tajura-Loro of Amdurdu Administrative Unit in the Nuba Mountains has performed a traditional meat eating feast.
 
The ceremony in their view marks an important stage in life, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
 
But, the local authorities criticize the ritual that it violates women rights of access to meat.
 
Tajura Boma Chairman, Odiken Awad Losho says the new generation should not practise such culture again.
 
He describes the initiative as a selfish attitude of the ancestral community.
 
The woman taking meat for the feast, Koniri Alima Barshum appreciates all the people who attended the ceremony.
 
Some people in the Nuba Mountains condemned the culture of meat eating discriminating women as housewives from eating it.
