Representatives of South Sudan and Kenya governments are meeting in Juba to review previous agreements on disputed boundaries.

The meeting reviews two Memoranda of Understanding signed between the two countries to resolve territorial quarrels through border demarcation and delimitation exercises, Radio Bakhita reports.

South Sudan Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin says there is no point of conflicting over boundaries after living for centuries without such fracas.

The two countries should speed up the demarcation process to encourage cross border cooperation, says Cleland Leshore the Kenyan Ambassador to South Sudan.

He urges technical border committees to use their expertise to pursue a meaningful dialogue that fulfils the national interests of South Sudan and Kenya.

Former Eastern Equatoria State Governor, Luis Lobong Lojore, now governing Namuryang advises cross border communities to avoid violence as they wait for the demarcation exercise.

Kenya’s Turkana County Senator, John Munyes expects the demarcation process to start in two months period.

South Sudan and Kenya share a border area of about 375 Kilometres.
