A multipurpose agriculture vocational training centre has been launched in Morobo County of Yei River State.
The facility is to boost crop production, health, education and environmental management skills, Radio Easter reports.
An Italian organisation for technical cooperation with developing countries known as ACAV funds the project.
Pierluigi Florretta, the Program Manager says the project supports more than 200 farmer cooperative groups in Morobo and Yei.
The centre helps in building the capacity of youth to fight dependency syndrome to recover from poverty, he says.
Taban Samuel, farmers’ representative asks the organisation to establish poultry, fish farming and bee keeping projects in the area.
Meanwhile, Yei River State Agriculture Minister, Huda Michael Laila hails the Italian Government for supporting human resource development in the country.
The project was launched on Friday in Morobo County of South Sudan which borders Uganda’s West Nile region.
