The newly appointed members of Gbudwe State Legislative Assembly have sworn in.

Gbudwe is one of President Salva Kiir’s created 28 states, Radio Anisa reports.

Despite the IGAD communiqué for the suspension of implementation of the 28 states, stories of appointments and swearing in ceremonies have been rampant throughout the country.

The creation of 28 states violates the provisions in the Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan signed by President Salva Kiir and SPLM/A-In-Opposition leader, Dr Riek Machar.

Former Western Equatoria State Speaker, Paul Tambua Eruwa has been sworn in as the speaker of Gbudwe State.

He says he is a humble leader of the newly established state legislature as the first speaker.

During the occasion, Governor Patrick Raphael Zamoi says the members were not chosen by mistake, but by God to serve at this moment for a purpose.
