South Sudan Blood Bank is hoping to make more units in 2016 compared to 2015.

Last year, the Bank collected over 1,000 blood units and about 146 last month, says Norik Peter Wal, National Blood Bank Project Manager.

Norik cites insecurity and transportation as challenges to carry out blood donation in other states.

She assures citizens that blood is collected, screened and given to patients freely.

The Official spoke to Radio Bakhita in an interview on Tuesday during a blood donation exercise at the United Nations compound in Juba.
