Man endures tribal marks to stop wife from teasing him as a boy

25-year -old man in Rumbek East County decided to be stratified on the forehead after his wife constantly referred to him as a boy for lack of tribal marks.
 
The man says he suffered humiliation from his wife whenever they had misunderstanding, Radio Good News reports.
 
She could scold me as a boy because I did not have Dinka Agaar traditional cuts, the man narrates.
 
I decided to be stratified to stop my wife from despising my status, he says.
 
But, the man says the wife has not changed r behaviours even after his display of bravery by tolerating knife cuts on the face.
 
The wife still threatens to leave man with or without the tribal marks.
 
Local authorities have outlawed cultural practices such as stratification and removal of lower teeth.
 
They are dangerous customs that could expose persons to deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS, the authorities say.
