South Sudan membership in the East African Community raises new hope for the region in addressing challenges, says a Ugandan diplomat.
Alex Birungi, a diplomat in the Ugandan Embassy in Juba says challenges facing the East African Community shall be addressed through cooperation, Radio Bakhita reports.
He warns that the world will judge member states harshly if they fail to safeguard future interests of the region.
The East African Community last week admitted South Sudan as the sixth member.
