The United Nations Children Fund, UNICEF discloses that humanitarian funding for South Sudan has collapsed.

The collapse of funding is putting tens of thousands of children at risk, UNICEF says.

An urgent appeal for 155 million US Dollars funding in 2016 to support lifesaving interventions in health care was made, says UNICEF.

But, only 27 million US Dollars out of the appeal has been received, UNICEF discloses.

The funding gap of 128 million US Dollars will mean 3.3 million children will not be vaccinated against measles, the agency says.

260 thousand children affected by the conflict will not be supported to return to school, UNICEF enumerates.

The reality is that without adequate support UNICEF will simply not be able to provide the services preventing children dying of malnutrition, diarrhoea and malaria says Jonathan Veitch, UNICEF Representative in South Sudan.
