An elderly man from Mendi in Nuba Mountains urges media houses in the region to strengthen cultures.
Tair Al-Fahl Sabulei Shattah tells Radio Voice of Peace that the media houses have a big role to play in the cultural transmission.
People are longing for cultural activities to be broadcast on radio stations he says.
If people’s voices and opinions are presented in the radio, they feel honoured and develop a good attitude towards the media, he explains.
He urges the community to have hope for upcoming generations to find better future.
He says lack of infrastructural development in the Nuba Mountains since 1960s is due to lack of education.
The elder warns that if people fail to educate their children, there will be no change of status.
