The Governor of Yei River State tells churches to continue preaching messages of peace to South Sudanese.
David Lokonga Moses commends churches for advising citizens to keep away from war and other criminal groups including ‘unknown gunmen’, Radio Easter reports.
He assures citizens that the government remains committed to peace.
The government will try its best to fight crimes in the state, Governor Lokonga promises.
Meanwhile, Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei Catholic Diocese stresses that cooperation of citizens, the church and the government is important for the development of the state.
The leaders made their remarks at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei on Sunday.
