South Sudan celebrates International Women’s Day in Juba

South Sudanese women are joining their colleagues worldwide to celebrate the International Women’s Day.
 
This year’s national theme is ‘South Sudanese pledge for ending child marriage’.
 
The celebration is starting with a procession from Dr John Garang Mausoleum to Nyakuron Cultural Centre in the morning hours.
 
Women and other stakeholders will hold a roundtable conference at Crown Hotel in the evening.
 
Exert more efforts to end child marriage which is alarming in the country, Awut Deng Acuil, Minister for Gender said on Monday.
 
The prevalence of child marriage in South Sudan presents a great challenge for women, she adds.
