Wau State accuse former government officials of corruption

Former Western Bahr El Ghazal state governor and finance minister are accused of disappearing with more than six million South Sudanese Pounds from a public treasury.
 
Governor Elias Waya says a local audit accused the former Finance Minister Lillian Rizik Valentino of withdrawing the money meant for employees’ pension fund, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
 
He also accused the former governor of Western Bahr El-Ghazal Rizik Zachariah Hassan for withdrawing all the money from the state block and current account including state employee’s salary for December.
 
Another 1.6 million which the former government collected as tax from businessmen in the state for service delivery have also gone missing in the hands of the former officials, he says.
 
Lillian Rizik former Finance Minister in Western Bahr El Ghazal denied involvement in the misappropriation of the fund.
 
The Minister says they put the money to the new projects of municipal headquarters and state assembly.
 
She threatens to seek a legal process against the claim made by the governor.
