UNMISS appoints new Police Commissioner

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan, UNMISS appointed a Rwandan Police officer to head the police unit of the peacekeepers.
 
Bruce Munyambo will take over his new role from Fred Yiga Radio Bakhita reports.
 
Yiga was the UNMISS Police Commissioner since the independence of South Sudan.
 
Munyambo promises to cooperate with authorities to protect civilians and implement the mandate of UNMISS in collaboration with South Sudanese.
 
The outgoing Police Commissioner Fred Yiga calls on South Sudanese to work for peace and respect of human rights.
 
He calls on citizens to show spirit of nationalism to develop the country.
 
The outgoing Police Commissioner will return to Uganda to serve as the Assistant Inspector General of Police.
