A man in Rumbek is in custody after raping a seven-year-old girl on Friday night.
This is the second time in less than a week after a Boda-boda rider did the same to 13-year-old.
Child Protection Officer Samuel Maper James told Radio Good News on Monday that doctors confirmed the rape.
The official says Rumbek police received seven rape cases since January this year.
He says five cases occurred in Rumbek Centre alone and two others in Yirol West County.
The victims are mostly under fifteen years of age.
Last week, women of Akuach area in Rumbek raised complaints of rape by armed men.
