Lent is the time for Christians to prepare to celebrate the victory of Jesus over death, a Catholic priest tells Christians of Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
Fr Deogratius Minja in his homily on Ash Wednesday, says Lent period is for the Christians to renew faith and clean their souls, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
Fr Minja notes that Lent is the time to fast and attend to the needy particularly the youth.
He advised Christians to reduce the ratio of their meals every day.
He stresses that Lent is time to take control of the desire to drink and eat other expensive foods.
The priest calls on the Christians to renew their lives and accept weaknesses.
The priest was celebrating the Ash Wednesday.
