The government should uphold the freedom of journalists for South Sudan to develop, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba tells the government.
Bishop Santo Loku Pio says he too has been receiving security threats for speaking the truth.
He congratulates the staff of Radio Bakhita for celebrating 10 years of broadcast amidst challenging conditions in the country.
Bishop Loku urges South Sudanese to stand for the truth as the country belongs to all.
All South Sudanese have the rights to speak about the 2013 incident which dragged the nation into the current crises, he adds.
The Bishop was speaking on Monday during the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Radio Bakhita broadcast services.
The ceremony was under the theme: ‘Radio Bakhita, the voice that speaks of peace: Envisioning a real participatory, informed, reconciled and just society’.
