Women of Akuach suburb in Rumbek Town say they face constant rapes by armed men when they go to fetch firewood.
One of the mothers in the neighbourhood tells Radio Good News that they have often been held at gunpoint to either pay ransom money for their daughters or get raped.
She recalls the time when she escaped death after gunshots at her while trying to rescue a young girl from rapists.
The woman says a group of armed men also held guns at her while she was bathing threatening her to pay money or be raped.
She says she paid 500 South Sudanese Pounds to save herself.
Samuel Maper James, a Child Protection Officer at Rumbek Police station admits that they receive reports of rape cases.
The latest rape was committed by a Boda-boda rider on 13-year-old girl.
