The Director of Food Security at the Agriculture Secretariat in Nuba Mountains reveals a plan to make food security a priority.
Alamin Hassan Fadul tells Radio Voice of Peace that they will establish large scale farming in all localities of the region.
He says they distributed tractors to the localities that have large scale farms.
Hassan adds that they give seeds to Payams to be grown in small gardens.
He also says the secretariat started training citizens on food maintenance.
The director remarks that it was important that citizens should be enlightened about food production in the region.
Last year saw poor rainfall and many parts of the Nuba Mountains received rain up to July only, resulting into serious hunger this year.
