Caritas Yei on Wednesday distributed food to internally displaced persons or IDPs in the former UNMISS compound.
Caritas Yei Livelihood Programme Assistant, Bale Francis, says they gave 90 bags of maize and 25 bags of beans to the IDPs, Radio Easter reports.
He adds that the idea is to encourage local farmers to produce more food this year.
He explains that they bought the food and give to displaced people so that farmers work hard to supply local markets.
Camp chairperson Ezekieh Justin thanks Caritas Yei for the aid.
He appeals for more support in the area of health, education and shelter.
Justin adds that they have 450 senior candidates who are not in studying now due to lack of support.
Coordinator of Yei River County Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Archangelo Sebit Manyang, urges humanitarian organizations to give more aid to the IDPs.
In Yei, there are 3, 213 displaced people from Wonduruba, Maridi and Mundri.
