SPLM-IO leader and the President of Uganda agreed to consolidate peace in the region through the Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan signed in August.
In a statement release on Tuesday, Dr Riek Machar Teny and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also agreed to start a new page in the relations between their parties.
SPLM-IO welcome President Salva Kiir’s move to normalize relations with Khartoum, said Dr Machar.
He believes the relations would be accelerated with the implementation of the Peace Agreement signed in August and Cooperation Agreement signed in 2012.
Dr Machar reiterated SPLM-IO full commitment to the implementation of the agreement in letter and spirit.
