Recent clashes between armed cattle herders and farmers in Lobonok Payam of Jubek State were resolved, said the Governor of Jonglei State.

Philip Aguer Panyang revealed that authorities of Jubek and Jonglei States agreed to settle the dispute peacefully, Radio Bakhita reports.

He says the two states agreed to facilitate the relocation of cattle herders in Jubek State to their respective areas of origin.

Lobonok clashes reportedly left five people dead after fighting broke out between the host community and cattle keepers.

Last year, President Salva Kiir ordered cattle herders to leave Equatoria region, but only few adhered to the directive.
