A priest of Torit Catholic Diocese entrusts leaders to offer meaningful gifts to the people in the New Year.

Gifts such as alcohol are destructive to the lives of young people, says Fr Noel Ogwuogu, Our Lady of Holy Rosary parish priest, Radio Emmanuel reported.

The priest advises leaders to emulate the three wise men from the East by offering meaningful gifts.

Fr Ogwuogu also condemns recruiting children to house helpers.

He proposes gifts of knowledge and ideas to empower the youth and prevent criminal activities.

Taking a lead, the priest offered a gift of a cross to Imotong State Governor Nartisio Manir Loluke.

Fr Ogwuogu says the gift of the cross leads the governor to Jesus Christ to guide him for good leadership.
