Cattle herder kills farmer in Nuba Mountains

A cattle keeper killed a farmer in Mandi area of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains after reportedly grazing animals in the farm.
 
41-year-old Ateip Hassan Fadul went to check his farm last Thursday morning and ended up being attacked by the cattle herder, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
 
His brother Alamin Hassan said the late farmer graduated from the University of Juba and worked in his own area Mandi as Advisor and HIV/AIDS Testing officer.
 
He recalled that a similar incident happened to his other brother, who was attacked by a gun man in the police office and sustained injuries.
 
Chief of Mandi, Muktar Anur Issa said they lost one of the most important people in the area.
 
He thanked the people of Mandi for remaining calm.
 
The cattle herder was arrested and is undergoing investigation.
