President Salva Kiir Mayardit after witnessing the swearing in of the new governors is today Thursday enlightening the public about his decision to create 28 states.
The President in a public rally will tell citizens the objective and the basis of the 28 states, said Acuil Malith Bangol, SPLM Advisor on Political Affairs and Syndicated Organizations.
‘All the citizens are welcomed. Those outside the country will be accorded the opportunity to watch it live from different media of their choice,’ Acuil told the press on Wednesday.
Presidential Advisor on Decentralization and Intergovernmental Affairs Tor Deng Mawien confirmed that all the new governors will attend the rally.
The event was being organized by SPLM members of the secretariat, he said.
The SPLM requested the president to speak to the people directly before the governors leave for their respected states, Tor added.
Advisor Tor said President Kiir will talk about peace and also the objective of more states and the benefits that will be obtained from them.
