Citizens complain about rise in mobile telecommunication charges

Mobile operating companies in South Sudan have increased telecommunication services’ charges making citizens to complain.
 
Many complaints have been recorded in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal State, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
 
A citizen says the rise in charges of telephone calls is as a blow to people who are already facing economic crisis.
Ahmad Adam Ahmad, who sells mobile phone airtime at Jou Market, says the new policy of currency devaluation has affected his business.
 
Zain Customer Care Centre Officer in Juba, Awad Faustino confirms call charges have increased.
 
Zain to Zain which used to cost 19 piasters before now costs 66 piasters, he says.
 
He explains that one minute communication to other networks now costs over one South Sudanese Pound.
 
Some mobile telecommunication companies indicate that rate charges change due to currency devaluation.
