Two male pupils of St Paul Primary School are sitting for the end of year examinations in chains.
The father of seven and nine years’ children tied them up at night for entering their house through a window, says the mother.
The father accuses the children of stubbornness, Radio Easter reports.
The mother of the two pupils requested the father to let them free, but he paid deaf ears, says the report.
St Paul Primary School head teacher, Lomuja Moses, says his plea to the parents to free the children went in vain.
He calls for government intervention on the matter.
Juma Denis, Yei Municipality Inspector of Gender, condemns the act, terming it a corporal punishment’ inflicted against children.
He urges the parents to free the children before legal proceeding takes place.
Such corporal punishment is a clear violation of the rights of children, the Gender Inspector warns.
Radio Easter could not reach the father of the chained up pupils for comments.
