Norway donates over 5 million US Dollars for South Sudan’s education

The 5.8 million US Dollars is meant to support basic education for children and youth throughout the country.
 
United Nations Children Fund, UNICEF and the Government of Norway are signing a contract on the donation today, Tuesday.
 
UNICEF is implementing ‘Back-to-Learning Initiative’ to mobilize 40 thousand children out of school to return to class.
 
100 Temporary Learning Spaces will be established, UNICEF says.
 
50 Early Childhood Development centres and other learning spaces will also be set up, it adds.
 
UNICEF says it will train 650 teachers in all ten states of the country.
 
Back-to-Learning Initiative will run for two years in South Sudan.
