A Member of Parliament appeals to Churches in South Sudan to advocate for peace deal realization.

Joy Kwaje Eluzai recognizes the churches for participating in ending Sudan’s war in 2005, Radio Bakhita reports.

MP Kwaje fears that any further uncertainty in the peace implementation increases suffering.

The parliamentarian made the remarks during the launch of a book: ‘The Voice of the Voiceless: The Role of the Church in the Sudanese Civil War 1983 – 2005.’

South Sudan and Sudan Church Peace Advisor, John Asworth authored the book.

A participant at the launch, Ferdinand von Habsburg, says the Church champions love, forgiveness and resistance against injustice.

Author Asworth believes Church unity in South Sudan and Sudan is admirable as a guiding star for the rest of the world.

The book is co-authored by Haruun Lual Ruun, Emmanuel Lo Willa and Maura Ryan.
