South Sudanese salaried workers in government and private sectors are demanding for pay increment to meet high cost of living in cities.

Women and men alike who earn monthly pay express dissatisfaction.

One woman says survival has become difficult with any income less than 100 US Dollars.

A man who earns about 2000 South Sudanese Pounds, equivalent to 100 US Dollars at the present rate, says he nowadays lives on shortage.

He fears the insufficient salary may cause family breakdown.

The employees appeal to the government to control commodity prices and the flow of hard currencies such as the US Dollars in the country.
