The National Education Ministry is developing syllabi for vocational, commercial and technical secondary schools.

Curriculum Development Acting Director Scopus Lubang told Radio Bakhita that the syllabi will help learning in mechanics, electricity, agriculture, tourism and hotel management.

He believes the syllabi will help local communities to be self-reliant after getting skills in carpentry, tailoring, agriculture, bee-keeping and other fields.

The Acting Director says many citizens will have opportunities to join various levels of learning at specific schools after writing.

The Syllabi writing is currently involving 13 panels with 64 participants expected to produce the general overview of the exercise in 2018.

United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization pays for the exercise.
