Yei Municipality high court on Monday sentenced a twenty-eight-year old teacher to seven years imprisonment for impregnating an underage primary five school girl.
High Court Judge Obec Deyong Anyong who presided over the ruling, says Ronald Lasu Alex of Lupapa Primary School, imprisonment terms started on October 13, 2015, Radio Easter reported.
A woman activist Nadia Roseline welcomed the decision, urges other teachers not to repeat similar offence and calls for protection of girls in the country.
The verdict was announced after Mr Lasu confessed to the court for having impregnated the school girl.
