The United Nations started deploying more human rights investigators to South Sudan.
The reason to assess better the alleged violations and abuses the conflicting parties committed.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein on Monday said he and a ten-person team are already in Juba to evaluate human rights.
The group will present the results to the Council at its next session in March.
He says the team will examine violations of international human rights and humanitarian laws the parties committed.
The High Commissioner said the report would contain recommendations for ways to improve the human rights situation in the country and ensure accountability for gross misconduct.
He explained that the assessment will be built on findings of UN Mission in South Sudan and advise the Council on appropriate follow-up action.
Zeid’s team arrived after the African Union Commission delayed release of a Inquiry report produced last year.
